Buffalo, NY (WKBW-TV)
Erie County Sheriff Tim Howard is announcing the arrest of a previously seven time convicted felon this afternoon on new charges including: A-1 felony – possession of a controlled substance first degree; B- felony- criminal sale of a controlled substance; and D-felony criminal possession of a weapon, after deputies with the assistance of Buffalo Police, arrested 43 year old Thelbert Joseph of 104 Breckenridge (lower) this afternoon at around 2:15 PM.
Narcotics deputies, armed with a search warrant signed by City Curt Judge Craig Hannah, confiscated nearly three kilos of cocaine (street value of $300,000.00); $18,000.00 in cash; and a defaced, loaded .40 Caliber semi-automatic pistol at the Breckenridge address where Thelbert Joseph resided.
The Erie County Sheriff’s Narcotics Squad began their investigation after a road patrol deputy made an unrelated arrest three weeks ago in the southern part of Erie County in which information was developed that lead them to the suspect.
Thelbert Joseph, who was taken into custody without incident, is considered by narcotics deputies to be a high level cocaine dealer in the City of Buffalo who sold his drugs to lower level dealers in the suburbs.
Thelbert Joseph is at the Erie County Holding Center pending his arraignment.
