Buffalo, NY (WKBW) Buffalo Fire and Police were called to 179 Mackinaw Street in Buffalo's Old First Ward shortly after 4:30a.m. Sunday morning for a report of a house on fire.

The fire quickly went to two alarms, with firefighters getting out of the vacant structure as flames and dangerous conditions pushed them back.

Firefighters woke residents next to the blaze at 183 Mackinaw and found an 18 year old male with special needs and his father that had never heard the commotion---both were thankful that their house was still standing and firemen got them out.

Fire officials at the scene say the fire is suspicious and the house is a total loss...Buffalo arson investigators are on location.

EWN will follow this fire and have the latest on EWN tonight at 6 and 11pm.
