The Fredonia School Board can either vote to merge its football team with the Brocton and Westfield districts or end the program all together. Tuesday's night vote will take place at six.

Brocton Superintendent Jason Delcamp said he's in favor of merging with Fredonia but Michael Bobseine the Fredonia School Board President said he isn't.

"We're at risk for some very serious injury. I would feel absolutely terrible knowing what I know if something happened to one of our kids," said Bobseine. "I honestly couldn't live with myself and I think that's why I'm probably going to vote against the combining."

Merging athletics programs is nothing new throughout western New York. Elba's football, soccer, track and baseball teams all merged with Byron-Bergen schools.

East Aurora's football program merged with Holland, Pine Valley's with Gowanda and Letchworth's with Warsaw.
