The 'City of Good Neighbors' once again proves why we've earned this name.

Five Red Cross volunteers from Western and Central New York Region are heading to Puerto Rico today to help with the recovery effort following Hurricane Maria.

  • Chuck Haupt, Owego
  • James Malburg, Painted Post
  • Jim Nowak, East Aurora
  • Rachel Snyder, Buffalo
  • Alexis Willard, Lewiston

So far, 160 volunteers from the Western New York area have been a part of the Red Cross relief efforts in Texas, Louisiana, Florida, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico.

Red Cross volunteers have provided more than 118,000 mental health and health services to support and care for those effected by back-to-back hurricanes: Harvey, Irma, and Maria.
