Sport fishing is big business for New York State. The NYSDEC estimates recreational fishing generates $1.8 billion in the Empire State. Supporting upwards of 17 hundred jobs.
“Whether we catch anything or not it's a piece of mind tranquility, don’t have to listen to kids screaming, dogs barking, wife hollering,” said Scott Bush of South Buffalo as he fished in the Buffalo Harbor.
Trout season opened on April 1st.
