The blaze started just after 11:30 Thursday night in an apartment complex at 305 Sobeiski Street. After learning that a 43-year old man was trapped inside his apartment, at least two police officers kicked down his door and pulled him to safety. The man was treated and released at the scene by emergency personnel. He is receiving aide from the American Red Cross. Investigators say it was an electrical fire that started in a kitchen.

"It was on the exterior of the structure when we got here so we were able to get inside and attack it, so we got it knocked down pretty quick," said Michael Biasillo, a Buffalo Fire Chief.

Investigators estimate the blaze caused $30,000 in damage. Investigators tell us the building is not a total loss, but there is significant water damage.
