Williamsville, NY (WKBW) - Williamsville Central School District was one of the first districts in Western New York to go back to class.
Superintendent Scott Martzloff says this year there will be an increased focus on technology -- even using iPads in elementary schools.
The devices will be available to third and fourth graders and given to every fifth grader.
A pilot program in the high schools will also allow students in some classrooms to bring their own laptops, iPads and smart phones into class to use them as instructional tools.
Martzloff acknowledges that there will be challenges keeping students off of social media, but says this is also an opportunity to teach students responsibility at a young age.
