Eight days ago, prominent Erie County Democrats, including County Executive Marc Poloncarz, called on the GOP to denounce GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump, following Trump's refusal to announce he would accept the results of the presidential election.

Now, the Erie County GOP is making a similar call to those Democrats, and is using one of their own's words to make their point.

Following news that the FBI was reopening their investigation in Hillary Clinton's emails, the official Erie County GOP twitter account posted this tweet, asking when Erie County Democratic Leaders would be un-endorsing Clinton.

That quotation from Jeremy Zellner comes from a Facebook post back in March. Zelner made those comments admist new sanctions against Cheektowga Assemblywoman Angela Wozniak.

It's worth noting that while there is an FBI Investigation underway, technically Clinton is not under investigation for "Ethics Violations," and is instead under a criminal investigation.

Three months ago, FBI Director James Comey said there was evidence Clinton had been "extremely careless" in her handling of classified material, but she had not committed a criminal offense.

We've reached out to both Nick Langworthy, the chair of the Erie Co. GOP, and Zeller for their response. We'll update this story with that information as soon as it becomes available.
