Drivers in East Aurora now have more incentive to slow down on residential streets.
The East Aurora Police Department announced Thursday that it is placing speed monitoring devices (SMD) by request. An image provided by the department shows a lieutenant with a new SMD on Pine Street. The devices display the speed of oncoming traffic. The speed limit in the Village of East Aurora is 30 miles per hour.
The department says any resident in East Aurora can request to have a speed monitoring device placed in their neighborhood by contacting the East Aurora Police Department.
