A heavy crane truck turned on its side on Route 394 in the Town of North Harmony.
According to the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office, a witness reported that the truck was driving in a reckless manner.
After investigation, the sheriff's office says the crane truck was driven by Jason Selig who did not accurately judge a curve in the road. This caused him to go off the road and hit a utility pole before the truck turned on its side.
The utility pole was destroyed causing live electrical wires to block Route 394. The road was closed until the wires and truck could be removed, but has since been reopened.
The sheriff's office says Selig was treated by Lakewood and Ashville Fire Departments at the scene and then transported to Hamot Hospital by Starflight Helicopter.
Selig was in stable condition at Hamot Hospital.
Charges are pending.
