The Town of Niagara Police Department arrested on driver on a charge of driving while intoxicated after a three-vehicle crash on Porter Road near Packard Road on Wednesday night.

A representative with the police department tells 7 Eyewitness News a vehicle spun out around 10 p.m., leading to a chain reaction collision with two other vehicles. Pictures taken by The Action in Niagara Falls show snow on the road at the time of the crash. While police say weather contributed to the crash, the officer says one driver was arrested for DWI.

That driver, David M. Wilson, was also issued traffic citations and taken to Niagara County Jail. At this time, it is unclear whether Wilson was the first driver to spin out or the second or third driver involved in the chain reaction.

Airbags were deployed as a result of the crash, and one person was transported to a local hospital with a back injury. The injury did not appear to be serious. No one else was hurt.
