A suspected distracted driver is accused of triggering a deadly collision in the Chautauqua County Town of Ellicott.
Crews were called to the scene on Harris Hill Road around 1:40 Tuesday afternoon.
Sheriff's deputies say 40-year-old Kerry Jo Mitchener of Falconer admitted she was reaching for an item when she veered into the oncoming lane and collided with Jill Hamrick's car.
Deputies say 35-year-old Hamrick of Gerry was rushed to WCA Hospital where she was pronounced dead a short time later.
Mitchener is charged with failure to keep right. She's due back in Ellicott Court at a later date.
