Grand Island, NY (WKBW-Release)
Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the arrest of a City of Buffalo man for a bench warrant and other charges following an argument with his girlfriend in the Town of Grand Island.
Erie County Sheriff’s Deputies Tony Yavicoli and Bradley Girdler responded to an E. River Rd. address in the Town of Grand Island and arrested 35 y/o Andy W. Arroyo of the City of Buffalo for Criminal Obstructing Airway and 2 counts of Harassment 2nd after a complaint was filed by Arroyo’s girlfriend about a recent confrontation and argument where Arroyo allegedly threw items at her, slapped her, and grabbed her around her throat.
Upon further investigation, it was discovered that Arroyo had an outstanding bench warrant out of the City of Buffalo for Criminal Mischief 3rd degree which is a Class E Felony.
Arroyo was taken to the Erie County Holding Center and held pending arraignment in Grand Island Court and held to answer his City of Buffalo bench warrant.
Town of Brant-
Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the arrest of a Town of Brant man for Assault 3rd and Criminal Obstructed Airway following a confrontation with his girlfriend and her relative.
Erie County Sheriff’s Deputies Brendan Connolly, Tom Was, and Dave Barbaritz responded to Rt. 438 on the Cattaraugus Indian Reservation for a complaint of people fighting on the side of the road.
Upon arrival and further investigation, it was discovered that 25 y/o Darren L. Warrior of Brant just had a physical confrontation with his girlfriend, where she sustained some cuts and bruises, and then left the residence and had another physical confrontation with a relative of the girlfriend on the side of Rt. 438. The relative also sustained some minor injuries. Warrior also allegedly put his hands around his girlfriend’s throat during the struggle.
Warrior was taken into custody at the scene and charged with 2 counts of Assault 3rd degree and Criminal Obstructing Airway. Warrior was taken to the Erie County Holding Center and held pending arraignment in the Town of Brant Court.
