Buffalo, NY (WKBW) - A 15-year-old boy may spend the rest of his life behind bars, after learning his fate for killing a fellow teenager.

Myles Taylor was just 14-years-old when he shot and killed 16-year-old Kelmyne Jones in July of 2013. Taylor will spend 13 years to life in prison.

The murder started off as a fight between a group of teenagers on Northland Avenue. The defense attorney says someone gave Taylor a gun.

"He pointed the gun at people running away, closed his eyes and fired the one shot," says defense attorney John Molloy.

That one shot killed Jones.

Prosecutors says Taylor took a street brawl to a whole different level, and that the teen still has not accepted full responsibility.

A tearful Taylor quietly apologized, saying "I wish I could take it all back."

Judge Michael D'Amico handed down a sentence just short of the maximum. "kids screwing around with guns and violence," D'Amico stated, "just heartbreaking."
