School Supplies for Needy Children Stolen from Ken-Ton Organization

TOWN OF TONAWANDA, N.Y. (WKBW) Sometime over the past week, thieves stole hundreds of dollars worth of backpacks and other school supplies from the "Ken-Ton Closet" storage area located in the Parkside Village Community Building.

All the supplies had been donated to the community organization and were scheduled to be distributed to needy school kids in the Ken-Ton area.

The theft outraged community members like Kara Cutler who is now using her consignment store as a drop-off point for new donations.

"This is when students really need the items and to have them taken is a shame," said Cutler.

Pencils, markers, scissors, backpacks, paper, notebooks and other supplies used by school children can be dropped off at the following location:
