Rochester Doctor with WNY Ties Tells Police He Hid a Body

Rochester, N.Y. (WKBW) A Rochester doctor who also worked in Orleans county admitted to police he hid a body at his home.

According to 13 WHAM, our sister station in Rochester, Doctor William Lewek, a psychiatrist, worked in Albion at the Orleans County Mental Health Clinic from August 2002 to January 2011.

62 year old Lewek told police he hid the body of 32 year old Matthew Straton at his home on Rowley Street in Rochester back on October 29th, this was just one day after Straton was reported missing.

The man's body was found on Thursday and on Friday a not guilty plea was entered in court on Lewek's behalf.

Lewek has been charged with tampering with evidence and possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, after police found 17 small bags of crack cocaine at Lewek's house.

13 WHAM reports that Lewek, who also worked with children, last known employer was Catholic Family Center but that he has not seen clients there since 2012.

It's still uknown how Lewek may have known Straton, whose cause of death is still unknown pending a full report from a Rochester area medical examiner.

Lewek's attorney said more charges could possible be filed against his client after a toxicology report is completed, which could take at least a month.

Lewek is being held in the Monroe County Jail on $350,000 bail.
