TOWN OF TONAWANDA, NY (WKBW) Police in the Town of Tonawanda have arrested Haibo Jiang, also known as Jimmy Ying, the owner of Ying's Wings and Things.

Ying was arraigned in Tonawanda Town Court Wednesday afternoon, charged with misdemeanor assault and felony strangulation. A judge entered a not guilty plea on Ying's behalf.

Authorities allege Ying attacked an employee at his restaurant on Sheridan Drive in the Town of Tonawanda, and that the employee required staples to close a head wound sustained in the attack.

Ying's bail was posted at $5,000, but no one arrived in court to post that bail. He was taken to the Erie County Holding Center.

Shortly after his arraignment, Cash Cunningham of Cash Realty and Auctions came forward, reporting Ying's Wings and Things in Tonawanda has been placed on the auction block.

Ying's will close on Monday, December 16th. The building and its assets will be auctioned off on-site at a public auction set for December 27 at 10 a.m.

The auction company says it was Ying's decision to close, and that he plans on moving the operation to a different location. Ying has faced charges from police on six separate occasions since September 14th.
