Ransomville Woman Accused of Violating Leandra's Law

Town of Cambria, N.Y. (WKBW release) -- A 35-year-old Ransomville woman was arrested Tuesday for allegedly violating Leandra's Law following a traffic stop in the Town of Cambria.

Jennifer L. Pils was taken into custody for allegedly driving under the influence with a two-year-old in the vehicle.

According to police, Pils was pulled over after Niagara County Sheriff's Deputy spotted a vehicle traveling eastbound driving in the westbound lane on Lower Mountain Road.

Police allege Pils failed a series of field sobriety tests. Police also allege Pils admitted to taking an undetermined amount of narcotics that morning.

Pils was transported to the Niagara County Sheriff's Office where she was charged with Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, Driving While Ability Impaired by Combined Influence of Drugs, Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated-Child Under 16 in Car, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Fail to Stay Right and Driving on the Shoulder.

The child was turned over to the custody of a family member.
