"Quick Change" Suspect Sought by Amherst Police

AMHERST, N.Y. (WKBW) - Amherst police are seeking help from the public to locate a "quick change" suspect.

Police say the suspect in the surveillance photo was involved with a "quick change" at a local convenient store on December 15th.

A “quick change” occurs when someone buys an inexpensive item. The cashier has the register open and the person asks for change for a larger bill.

The person then uses quick hand movements and dialogue to confuse confuse the cashier into giving them more money.

The suspect is described as a black male in his early 30s or 40s with a medium build and a Goatee.
