BUFFALO, NY (WKBW-TV) - Buffalo Police have arrested 52-year-old Dwayne Ferguson of Buffalo and charged him with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon including having a loaded weapon on school grounds.

Buffalo Police say he was inside the Harvey Austin School this afternoon with a handgun.

Ferguson is the president of MAD DADS, a group that works to reduce gang violence in Buffalo.

Nearly a dozen police cars swarmed the school shortly after 4 this afternoon after reports surfaced of a man with a gun in the school. Students were safely kept in the cafeteria until a preliminary sweep came up with nothing.

Students were transported on buses to P.S. 91 where they can be picked up by their parents.
