Niagara Falls Police Arrest Man With 17 Active Warrants

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WKBW) - A Niagara Falls man wanted on 17 warrants was arrested Monday by Niagara Falls Police officers, along with assistance from the US Marshals Service and Niagara County Sheriffs Office.

Authorities caught and arrested 27-year-old Donald Leroy Smith in the 1300 block alley of Lasalle Avenue after a brief foot chase.

Smith was wanted on 17 warrants in the City of Niagara Falls. Among the charges were two cases involving second degree assault, two cases involving first degree burglary, and one case of first degree criminal sexual act.

Smith also had outstanding charges for reckless endangerment, where he fired a hand gun at an acquaintance. He was considered armed and dangerous.
