Niagara County Sheriff's Arrest Correction Officer On Sexual Abuse Charges

NIAGARA COUNTY, NY ( release ) The Niagara County Sheriff’s Office announces the arrest of Correction Officer David Elliott on charges of Sexual Abuse in the 2nd Degree and Official Misconduct.

Correction Officer Elliott , age 56, of Sanborn, joined the Sheriff’s Office in 2006 as a Correction Officer.

The arrest stems from an incident that occurred at the Niagara County Correctional Facility while Officer Elliott was on duty. The incident came to light after intelligence was given to members of the Sheriff’s Office of the alleged act.

Officer Elliott was arraigned before Town of Lockport Justice Raymond Schilling and was released upon posting bail. He is set to return to Town of Lockport court on February 9th.

Undersheriff Michael J. Filicetti immediately suspended Officer Elliott with pay pending a departmental investigation and hearing.

Undersheriff Filicetti stated that due to the nature of the alleged acts, the on-going criminal investigation and pending departmental charges, no further information will be forthcoming.
