NYS Police Make Multiple Arrests After Bills Game

ORCHARD PARK, NY (WKBW/Release) - On September 16th, 2012, New York State Police based out of Boston, Clarence, and the NYS Thruway conducted a DWI saturation patrol to coincide with the Buffalo Bills opening home game. Troopers issued 50 traffic tickets which included 6 DWI arrests, 1 drug arrest, 17 speeding tickets, and 33 other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations.

The following were arrested for DWI:

Kelly L. Heberlein, age 44, of Darien Center, NY, was stopped on Transit Road in Elma, after she nearly struck a New York State Police vehicle parked on the shoulder of the roadway. Heberlein was found to be intoxicated, and she was processed at SP Holland where she consented to a breath test which resulted in a BAC of .12%. She will appear in the Town of Elma Court on a later date to answer the charge.

Bradley M. Poss, age 56, of Depew, NY, was stopped on Transit Road in the Village of Depew for passing a red light. Poss's registration was suspended for parking tickets. After further investigation Poss was arrested for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree, Unlawful Possession of Marihuana and for a Public Health Law Offense for having a controlled substance out of its original container. He will appear in the Village of Depew Court to answer the charges at a later date.

Lisa D. Ziems, age 26, of Cheektowaga, NY, was involved in a minor property damage auto accident on Southwestern Boulevard, in the Town of Orchard Park. Ziems was found to be intoxicated. She was processed at SP Clarence where she refused to provide a breath sample. She will appear in the Town of Orchard Park Court at a later date to answer the charges. She will also have to appear at a NYS Department of Motor Vehicles Hearing because she refused to provide a breath sample.

Peter M. Roy, age 32, of Lowell, Massachusetts, was stopped on SR-400 in the Town of West Seneca for texting on his cell phone and not wearing a seat belt. Further investigation revealed that Roy was intoxicated. He was processed at SP Holland where he consented to a breath test which resulted in a BAC of .09%. He will appear in the Town of West Seneca at a later date to answer the charges.

Arthur J. Cross, age 36, of Orchard Park, NY, was stopped near the intersection of Michael Road and Angle Road in the Town of Orchard Park for not wearing his seat-belt and was found to be intoxicated. He was processed at SP Holland where he consented to a breath test which resulted in a BAC of .14%. He was charged with Felony DWI because of a previous DWI conviction and will appear in the Town of Orchard Park Court on a later date to answer the charges.

Tyler Scott, age 22, of Jamestown, NY, was stopped for a traffic infraction on Interstate-90 in the Town of West Seneca and was found to be intoxicated. He was processed at SP Buffalo, where he consented to a breath test which resulted in a BAC of .10%. He will appear in the Town of West Seneca Court on a later date to answer the charge.

Laura Inzana, age 22, of Spencerport, NY, was stopped for a traffic infraction on Interstate-90 in the Town of Pembroke and found to be intoxicated. She was processed at SP Buffalo where she refused to provide a breath sample and was additionally charged with Resisting Arrest. She was arraigned in the Town of Pembroke and committed to the Genesee County Jail in lieu of $1,000.00 bail. She will return to the Town of Pembroke Court at a later date to answer the charges. She will also have to appear at a NYS Department of Motor Vehicles Hearing because she refused to provide a breath sample.
