Man Pleads Guilty to Breaking into Mark Poloncarz's Home

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) - A Buffalo man pleaded guilty to Burglary and Petit Larceny Wednesday morning after he broke into the car and home of Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz in June.

Police say 22-year-old Avello Pena broke into Poloncarz's car in the early morning of June 17th, which was parked in Poloncarz's driveway. Pena then broke into his home.

Poloncarz woke up from the noise and alerted police. Pena was arrested later that morning.

Pena is a second violent felony offender, after he was previously convicted for assault in connection to a shooting. He face 5 to 15 years in prison.
