JAMESTOWN, N.Y. (WKBW) State Police in Jamestown arrested Richard E. Williams Jr. of Hinsdale on Friday, charging him with Criminal Impersonation and Aggravated Harassment.
Police tell Eyewitness News that Williams had called a woman's employer in the City of Jamestown. He allegedly told the employer on several occasions that he was with the New York State Police.
Troopers believe Williams was trying to get the woman fired. They have not released his relationship to the woman.
Williams was arraigned in Jamestown City Court and taken to Chautauqua County Jail, where he is held without bail.
Impersonating a public servant, including a police officer, is a class C felony in New York State.
