LeRoy Police Investigating Reported Home Invasion, Sexual Assault at Knifepoint

(WKBW release) According to a news release issued Thursday, the LeRoy Police Department said it is investigating a reported home invasion and sexual assault which occurred early Thursday morning on Gilbert Street. 

According to the news release:

At approximately 1:30 a.m. police responded to the address where they were advised that a person described as a black male, thin build and 20 to 30 years old had entered the residence where the victim was sleeping and sexually assaulted the victim at knifepoint. 

The victim sustained a laceration to the chin from the knife. The suspect then left the residence and a search of the area failed to locate him.
