(New York State Police news release) On May 13, New York State Police from Clarence and Batavia responded to assist the Erie County Sheriff’s Office with a report of a hit and run accident that occurred on Broadway in the Village of Alden at approximately 9:50 p.m.
According to the New York State Police news release:
At this location a vehicle operated by a 56-year-old female was struck from behind causing significant damage to both vehicles. The suspect vehicle continued east on Broadway without stopping. Area patrols were alerted and approximately 12 to 15 minutes after the initial accident the suspect vehicle and operator were located by Troopers on ST-20 in the Town of Darien in Genesee County.
Investigation at that scene led to the arrest of Xavier A. Davis, 47, of Lockport, for Driving While Intoxicated. Davis was transported to United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia where he later submitted to a blood test. Investigation would also reveal that Davis has a prior conviction for Driving While Intoxicated and has his license suspended for this earlier charge. Davis was additionally charged with Felony DWI and Felony Aggravated Unlicensed Operation. Upon his release from UMMC in Batavia Davis was transported to SP Clarence where he was processed for the charges. Erie County Deputies later additionally charged Davis with several traffic violations which included Leaving the Scene of a Personal Injury Accident in the Village of Alden.
