Buffalo, N.Y. (WKBW release) -- U.S. Attorney William J. Hochul, Jr. announced Monday that Shawn Pound, 40, of Gowanda, N.Y., pleaded guilty before U.S. District Court Chief Judge William M. Skretny to possession of child pornography.

The charge carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and a fine of $250,000. Sentencing is scheduled for March 5, 2012.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Aaron J. Mango, who handled the case, stated that on March 9, 2010, Pound, a NYS Corrections Officer at the time, possessed 190 images of child pornography stored on two computers at his residence in Gowanda. The two computers were seized by law enforcement agents during the execution of a federally authorized search warrant, and a subsequent search of the computers revealed the images.
