Florida Couple Admits to Murdering Former Amherst Native

PORT ST. LUCIE, FL (WKBW) - A Port St. Lucie, Florida couple is behind bars after they admitted to murdering a former Amherst native.

Police say 31-year-old Georgia Scordamaglia and her boyfriend 27-year-old David Weingrad, admitted to killing their roommate, 53-year-old Alisa Kerman, last week.

Police say Scordamaglia and Weingrad bludgeoned Kerman to death in her bed with a sledgehammer.

Kerman's body was found inside her home Thursday night.

According to WPBF, the ABC affiliate in West Palm Beach , the couple admitted to killing Kerman, saying she wanted them to move out because they were using drugs again.

Weingrad and Scordamaglia were taken into custody at a La Quinta Inn in Fort Lauderdale early Sunday morning.

Both were taken to the Broward County Jail and charged with first degree murder and armed robbery.
