Buffalo, NY

The mystery surrounding the death of a young Buffalo woman.too much for her family to bear.

"I woke up at three o'clock this morning hearing my daughter scream," Anthony James said as he fought back tears.

Thirty year old Desirae James was his first born child.

The last time he had contact with her was on Sunday, November 24, 2013 when he texted her to come over for dinner. She replied, saying she had to work until eight that night and was having company afterwards.

She promised to come by the next day.

But instead of a visit from his beloved daughter he got a knock on the door from homicide detectives Monday, telling him his daughter was dead.

"My sister didn't deserve what happened to her and I feel like she should definitely get justice. She was a wonderful person. She was joyful , she was caring she was loving," said Tiffany James, Desirae's 19 year old sister.

Desirae's body was found in a burning car on Swinburne Street near Broadway in Buffalo early Monday, November 25th.

Her family tells us the 2004 Red Pontiac Bonneville she was found in was her car.

"If someone was to try and overpower her she would try and fight back to get out of that situation. It has to be some type of evidence someway somehow," said Anthony James.

But police haven't revealed any leads in the case.

The family is working to finalize funeral arrangements for Desirae.

Buffalo police are asking for anyone with any information on this case to contact the confidential tipline at 716-847-2255.
