BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) - A Buffalo man was arrested Saturday night for Felony Cocaine Possession and Aggravated DWI after a traffic stop by Deputies assigned to the Buffalo Police Strike Force.
While on patrol in Buffalo at approximately 9:00 p.m., Deputies arrested 33-year-old Patrick Downey and charged him with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, Aggravated DWI, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, and multiple traffic infractions after they stopped his vehicle for erratic operation and driving without using a seatbelt on Broadway Avenue near Rother Avenue
Downey was found to be in possession of approximately 2 grams of cocaine, one of which he admitted to snorting while he was driving. His license to drive had three current suspensions in effect.
The Aggravated DWI charge was filed due to his breath test showing that his blood alcohol content was .18%, over twice the legal limit.
He was processed and transported to the Holding Center to await arraignment on his charges in City Court.
This arrest marked the 120th DWI arrest made by Sheriff’s Road Patrols in 2013.
