( RELEASE ) At approximately 6:30pm Troopers Gandy and Redman stopped a vehicle on Mohr Street for operating without headlights. During the interview of the occupants an odor of marijuana was observed by the Troopers. Further investigation revealed the passenger Shalena M. Williams, 25, of Buffalo had approximately 2 grams of marijuana on her and a warrant out for her arrest for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree from Buffalo P.D. Shalena was charged with Unlawful possession of marijuana and transported to the Erie County Holding Center where she was processed and held on the warrant pending arraignment in the morning.

At approximately 7:50pm Troopers Krywalski and Egloff stopped a vehicle on 15th Street for no plate lamp. Interview of the operator Darrin M. Herndon, 22, of Cheektowaga Troopers noticed in plain view four pills outside their original container. Further investigation revealed that the pills were hydrocodone. The passenger David L. Pontano, 25, of Buffalo was also found to have four hydrocodone pills in his pocket outside their original container. Both subjects charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree and possessing prescription medication outside the original container. Herndon and Pontano where transported to the Erie County Holding Center, Processed and released on Appearance Tickets returnable 11/23/10 at 9:30am and released.

At approximately 9:30pm Troopers Gandy and Redman stopped a vehicle at Grant and Amherst for the front seat passenger not wearing his seat belt. During the interview the Troopers observed a strong odor of marijuana. The passengers where removed from the vehicle and searched. The operator Cedric P. Johnson, 21, of Buffalo was found to posses approximately 2 grams of marijuana and the back seat passenger Chanelle M. Tindall, 23, of Buffalo was also found to posses approximately 2 grams of marijuana. The front seat passenger Ashuriem S. Johnson, 20, of Buffalo was found to posses approximately 2 grams of marijuana but was also acting irrational. Troopers suspected that he further concealed drugs while being searched. All three subjects transported to the Erie County Holding Center and processed. During the processing Deputies located an additional 2 grams of cocaine and approximately 12 grams of marijuana secreted on Ashuriem Johnson. Cedric Johnson and Chanelle Tindall were charged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana and issued Appearance Tickets returnable on 11/22/10 at 9:30am. Ashuriem was charged with Unlawful possession of Marijuana, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5thdegree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree (intent to sell) and Promoting Prison Contraband. Ashuriem Johnson was held pending arraignment.
