ALDEN, NY (WKBW) - A NYSEG spokesperson confirms that someone broke into a Walden Avenue NYSEG transfer station in Alden, and stole copper grounding wire.

NYSEG had to cut the power to 1400 customers to make the repairs. Power was shut off for almost two hours.

Power is currently back on to the customers. But now a small fire at the station has occurred. Details on that coming soon.
