Mayville, NY (WKBW) - The Anthony Taglianetti murder trial is expected to soon go to a jury. Closing arguments are expected to begin on Friday.

After weeks of the prosecution presenting witnesses, the defense had its turn. On Thursday and Friday, the defense only called a total of two witnesses to the stand. Taglianetti will not testify in his own defense.

Prosecutors say Anthony Taglianetti drove from his Virginia home to Clymer to kill Keith Reed, after learning of an online affair between Reed and his wife. Reed was found shot to death in September of 2012.

The defense called a Sheriff's deputy and a lieutenant with the forensics team to the stand. Both testified about a number of weapons found on Keith Reed's property.

During both opening statements and testimony, Taglianetti's defense team also took aim at his wife. Mary Taglianetti had testified for the prosecution, pointing the finger at her husband.

For the prosecution law enforcement testified they found a handgun with Keith Reed's blood on it in Taglianetti's car.

Prosecutors also the jurors with surveillance tapes, witnesses and an ATM receipt from Virginia found near Reed's body.
