Buffalo, NY (WKBW) - After a two week break in the trial, testimony is expected to resume on Monday morning in the murder trial against Candace Cartagena.

The Amherst mother is accused of killing her eight-year-old daughter in November of 2010.

On Monday, the defense plans to call an expert witness in the medical field. The witness will claim Bianca died from an undiagnosed heart disorder.

The former Erie County Medical Examiner already testified for the prosecution that Bianca died from asphyxiation.
