BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) Dale Gabler, 39, has pleaded guilty to four counts of Burglary in the Second Degree, following a string of break-ins in Buffalo's Elmwood Village.

Gabler admitted to breaking into homes in the Elmwood and Linwood neighborhoods between September 1, 2012 and October 1, 2012. Gabler broke into the homes while their residents were sleeping; he stole money and credit cards, computers, and iPods. On at least one occasion, Gabler says he stole car keys from the home and drove off in his victim's vehicle.

Prosecutors suspect Gabler of attempting to break into the home of an Erie County Assistant District Attorney, but they believe that burglary was stopped by the victim's barking dog.

Detectives believe Gabler's motive for these crimes was related to his alleged addiction to crack cocaine.

Due to past felony convictions, Gabler faces a maximum prison sentence of 50 years in prison. He is scheduled to be sentenced in January 2013.
