BUFFALO, NY ( release) Buffalo Police Homicide Detectives continue to investigate a late morning attempted murder-suicide.

Northeast District police responded to a call around 11:00AM Saturday, regarding a woman shot.

Officers found the victim at a store located in the 400 block of East
Amherst Street, bleeding from a gunshot wound.

She has been identified as 23 year old Wendy Broadus of Buffalo.

The victim informed the responding officers that she had been shot by 23 year old Kasmar Williams, while they were at 234 Parkridge Avenue.

"The district officers did then proceed to the Parkridge home, and did
locate the suspect identified by Ms. Broadus. He was found dead at the scene, from what appears to be a self-inflicted wound from a handgun, which was also located near the body," according to Dennis J. Richards, Chief of Detectives.

The body was removed to the county morgue.

Homicide Squad detectives and Crime Scene Unit personnel responded to the scene.

The female victim of the shooting remains in fair condition, at the Erie
County Medical Center.
