(WKBW release) Erie County Sheriff Tim Howard on Monday announced that a 46-year-old Town of Alden woman has been charged with grand larceny and fraud for allegedly embezzling approximately $300,000 from her employer over the past six years.
Lynn Montgomery was arrested on Dec. 30 after a three-week investigation, according to the release from the Erie County Sheriff's Office. Montgomery is alleged to have generated fraudulent payroll checks from NORAMPAC since 2005. According to police, Montgomery allegedly issued the payroll checks to employees that were on disability or recently terminated, forged those employees' names on the checks and deposited them into her personal bank account.
The Erie County Sheriff's Office is continuing to investigate, and additional charges are possible.
