TOWN OF LOCKPORT, N.Y. (WKBW) - A 16-year-old was arrested early Sunday morning on multiple charges, including Aggravated DWI under Leandra's Law, for having a passenger under 16-years-old in the vehicle.
Police received a report of a possible intoxicated driver entering the City of Lockport. Subsequently the officer on duty located 16-year-old David Geary of Tonawanda.
Police say Geary was driving his vehicle southbound on South Transit Road, just inside the Town of Lockport. Geary did not initially stop when the officer activated his emergency lights. He proceeded through multiple red lights, and changed lanes unsafely.
Geary finally stopped in a parking lot. He failed all field sobriety tests and was arrested on three counts of DWI, including Aggravated DWI under Leandra's Law, for having a 14-year-old passenger in the car with him.
Further investigation revealed the Impala had been reported stolen to the Town of Tonawanda Police earlier that morning. Additionally, Geary was charged with Unauthorized use of a Motor Vehicle and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property.
He was remanded under $750 bail and will return to court to face his charges on Tuesday.
