The Easter bunny is hopping over spending this year! According to the National Retail Federation's Easter spending survey, Americans will shell out an average of $145 on everything from apparel and candy to food and decorations this year. That's up 11 percent from $131 last year. Total spending is expected to reach $16.8 billion.

Stands at the Broadway Market are ready for the action. Easter is the busiest season of the year at the market. Last year, some stands had a record year and they're hoping to top that this year.
The NRF survey finds that 89% of consumers say they will buy candy. The same number is buying food. 63% will buy gifts. 54% will buy greeting cards and 49% are buying new spring clothes. Since clothes cost the most, the clothing industry will have the biggest impact on overall spending.
