WASHINGTON (AP) - Rising energy prices are leading another jump
in overall consumer prices. The Labor Department reports that its
Consumer Price Index rose by three-tenths of one percent last
month, the second straight month at that level of increase. Energy
costs are rising at their fastest pace in five months. Stocks are
lower this morning, as investors worry about the strength of
consumer spending.
