After a tragic loss of the Neureuter’s family home because of a fire, the community is coming together to offer anything they can to help this family get back on their feet.

The fire was on Rosedale Avenue and the call came out on Tuesday at 2:23 in the morning.
Erie County Legislator, Lynn Dixon, is leading donation efforts. The Hamburg Village Hall at 100 Main St. is serving as a drop off point for donations to help the Neureuter family.

“They are a much beloved family. When you drive by and you see what is left of that house, it was a beautiful home that they raised their children in and to know that it is just no longer there. It is just heartbreaking,” Dixon said.

The home was not able to be saved, but Dixon says she is relieved that everyone made it out safely.

People have been dropping of toiletries, clothing, and gift cards. The first round of donations have already been dropped off to the Neureuter’s.

Dixon says the best things for the family right now are gift cards and monetary donations, so the Neureuter’s can get what they need.

Dixon says she is planning a fundraiser for the family, which will take place on Friday, September 8th from 6-8 p.m. at the Pour House at 23 S Buffalo St, Hamburg.

Dixon is appreciative for the firefighters and the community support during this time.
