A local community newspaper company will shut its doors Monday at the end of the business day.

Community Papers of Western New York, LLC publishes and distributes 15 free weekly newspapers, nine free weekly penny savers and shoppers, a bi-monthly magazine, a bi-monthly coupon magazine and eight websites.

The company's LinkedIn profile states that it employs 130 people in six different offices in the Western New York area.

According to an email obtained by 7 Eyewitness News, one of the company's creditors, The Buffalo News, decided to cut off the company's access to cash following a court hearing that took place last Friday. As a result, all employees would be laid off, and Community Papers would close down at 5 p.m. Monday.

The email also advised employees to turn in their time cards, cell phones, iPads, computers and keys by the end of the day. The email also informs them they will receive their final pay checks by mail.
