Cocaine dealer arrested after trying to take off on Narcotics Unit

The Erie County Sheriff's Office reports 33-year-old Armond Cleague of Buffalo was arrested just after 2 p.m. on Thursday. 

Deputies made the arrest following a six-month investigation into Cleague's drug dealing activity. 

Officials say while making the arrest he attempted to take off in a vehicle but was later taken into custody near Duerstein Street and Junior Avenue. 

Members of the Narcotics Units recovered 9-ounces of cocaine, a quantity of marijuana and $8,800. 

Cleague is charged with Criminal Possession of a Narcotic, Criminal Possession of a Narcotic with Intent to Sell, both felonies, along with a Misdemeanor Count of Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer and a violation of marijuana possession. 

He's held at Erie County Holding Center pending arraignment in Buffalo City Court.
