The city of Buffalo has given 500 tablets that were made by a city business to a scholarship program that sends public school students to college.

Mayor Byron Brown presented Say Yes Buffalo with the Bak Board tablets on Wednesday. They'll be distributed to college students who receive Say Yes scholarships and grants.

The tablets were made by Bak USA, which established its headquarters in Buffalo last December. They were purchased using $75,000 in city funds.

Brown calls it an investment that will pay long-term dividends.

Say Yes provides college scholarships to Buffalo public and charter school graduates.
