A Cheektowaga man is facing federal charges of enticing a minor for sexual activity using social media apps.

Federal prosecutors say Andrew Reiner, 28, used the apps Kik and Skout to communicate with a 15 year-old girl. According to investigators, Reiner convinced the victim on multiple occasions to sneak out of her home late at night to meet him for sexual activity.

Prosecutors say Reiner texted the victim messages that were sexual in nature in order to lure her into sexual activity even after learning her age.

Reiner also attempted to entice the victim to ask her friends to participate in sexual activity, according to the criminal complaint.

The victim's mother and grandparents alerted the FBI to the suspicious activity.

After the victim's cell service was turned off, prosecutors say Reiner continued to attempt to contact the victim.

If convicted, Reiner faces up to life in prison.

If anyone has information about the defendant, you are asked to call the FBI at 856-7800 and ask for a member of the Child Exploitation Task Force.
