The Town of Cheektowaga is now reminding neighbors about paying local taxes as tax season inches closer.
Town officials posted the following tips to the town's Facebook page.
First, you'll have to make sure you are only paying with either a check or cash when you're pre-paying your county taxes. The town will not accept credit card or debit card payments.
You can either pre-pay taxes in person at the Cheektowaga Tax Office or mail them there; all mail must be postmarked by December 31.
Town officials also want to remind neighbors that this service is not available for pre-paying school taxes.
They hope to start accepting payments on Thursday, December 17.
