The 2017 Western New York Boat Show is happening this weekend inside the AdPro Sports Training Center in Orchard Park.
Sellers hope everything from simple fishing boats, to more sophisticated luxury vessels, are sold by Sunday.
Many of the boats at the show cost as much as a luxury car, or even a house. Experts say the size, model and type of boat all play a role in the cost. Boats at the event range from $17,000 to $240,000 and that's not including the docking fee and insurance.
Some boat owners recommend investing in a used boat. They say it's more financial feasible for those who are living on a small budget.
"You can get a used one with everything on it . The boat is immaculate for way less than a fraction of what a new one will cost you," said John, a boat owner.
