A Buffalo man is headed to prison for a butcher knife attack that permanently injured another man.

A judge sentenced 27-year-old Tyron Fish to a determinate sentence of 13 years behind bars followed by five years post-release supervision.

In September of last year, Fish went to his ex-girlfriend's home in Buffalo after making a number of threatening phone calls. When the woman's new boyfriend came outside to ask Fish to leave, the defendant stabbed him three time with a butcher knife.

The victim underwent a blood transfusion and four surgeries. Due to the severity of the stab wound to his abdomen, the victim will be at-risk for stomach-related problems his entire life.
