Niagara Falls, NY - Local hotelier Ali Rizek is proposing to construct a 100-room Comfort Inn and Suites in Niagara Falls that will service people using Niagara Falls International Airport and the Fashion Outlets shopping center.

Rizek, who owns an Econolodge property on Niagara Falls Boulevard in Niagara Falls, is working with the Niagara County Industrial Development Agency on an incentive package for the project. The NCIDA is expected to receive his request for assistance when its directors meet on July 11. A formal vote on the package may happen in August.

According to plans filed with the NCIDA, the project will include the Comfort Inn - slated for Niagara Falls Boulevard next to the Econolodge property - and also a restaurant parcel. Rizek is negotiating with national chains for the restaurant.

Construction is expected to start later this year.

Also on the NCIDA agenda is formal approval of a request of incentives that Merani Holdings LLC is seeking to help finance the construction of a 7,800-square-foot restaurant that will neighbor a Holiday Inn they own on Buffalo Avenue.

The project carries a $1.4 million development price tag and is expected to employ 30 people.
